Geothermal digging begins at Mohawk

Posted in: All News

This week, the construction of The Joyce Centre for Partnership & Innovation hit another milestone as the crews from GeoSource Energy Inc. began digging the geothermal wells that will help heat and cool the Centre. Set on top of the escarpment, a dig of this magnitude is rare but will become one of the defining sustainability features of the Net Zero designed facility and pilot project for the CaGBC Zero Carbon Building Pilot Program. The process is expected to last roughly a month.

Geothermal heating and cooling is the direct use of the earth’s energy to heat and cool a building, a process that is both  clean and sustainable.
