The interior improvement project at 8 Queen St North in Downtown Kitchener, Ontario, offered an opportunity to transform the office space for Vidyard, a video editing company. Seeking a balance between functionality and creativity, Vidyard envisioned a fun workspace that reflects its dynamic culture.

Response

Drawing inspiration from Vidyard’s vision, the design team, in collaboration with Interior Designer Dfy Studio, crafted a three-story office space that integrates the building’s historical character with contemporary elements. Unique features were introduced to infuse the space with vitality and innovation, including a meeting room within a converted steel shipping container, a foam pit, and a rooftop patio. Additionally, custom millwork, such as terraced seating and shelving made from reclaimed timber, was incorporated into the design.
