Long awaited renovations and rebuilding of Peach King Centre in Grimsby is about to begin.
“It becomes a true community centre and we go from the oldest one in the Niagara region to the newest,” said Mayor Jeff Jordan prior to the May 21 official ground-breaking ceremony in front of the centre behind town hall on Livingston Avenue.
Work on the $36.7-million project is slated to being in the next week or two and will be completed in the fall of 2025.
The upgraded and expanded centre will feature new and improved amenities, including a double gymnasium, indoor walking track, youth centre, multipurpose rooms and upgrades to arena dressing rooms.
There will also be upgraded parking and new walkways.
