As a consequence of mcCallumSather’s exciting and ongoing growth as an integrated design firm, we announce significant organizational shifts and further recognize individuals who have been instrumental in this success story.

Based in Hamilton, mcCallumSather is celebrating its 22nd year and recently opened its second office in Kincardine, ON. Its high profile projects have garnered national attention including initiatives that demonstrate design excellence and span a broad spectrum of complex building typologies with nationally recognized expertise in sustainability and heritage.

Joanne McCallum, CEO, OAA, FRAIC, LEED AP

As a founding partner, Joanne has been instrumental in guiding the evolution of our firm. Under her guidance, mcCallumSather has grown into a multi-disciplinary architectural, engineering and interior design firm. We are excited to announce that Joanne assumes the senior leadership role of CEO. Her main focus will be to ensure the firm’s mission and vision is integrated into the firm’s ambitious growth strategy.

Michelle Austin, COO, MAATO, LEED AP

We are thrilled to announce that Michelle Austin is our new COO. Michelle has been a key staff member and instrumental in the growth of the firm since the inception of our partnership in 1996. Her calm, clear and precise manner working with staff, clients, contractors and the public, coupled with her unwavering commitment to ensuring project success have been instrumental to mcCallumSather’s growth. Through the years Michelle has assumed increasing responsibilities in managing the operations of the firm, now consolidated in this new role.

Mary Georgious, Associate and Mechanical Engineering Lead, P.Eng, LEED AP, BD+C

An enthusiastic leader, Mary joined the firm less than two years ago and has made a significant impact. She offers extensive experience in HVAC, fire protection, plumbing and medical gas system design. As the firm’s mechanical engineering lead, Mary’s has led the growth in the mechanical division from three to seven, and is active in the firm’s business development. Mary brings a strength in project management and problem solving, ensuring all mechanical solutions seamlessly integrate into a project’s design, working with both our in-house architectural and interiors teams as well as in partnership with other firms.

William Neal, Associate, OAA, RAIC, PMP

Having joined mcCallumSather in 2016, William is a registered architect in Ontario with over seven years of working architectural experience, a hands-on construction background, and complementary technical degree.  In 2016 he earned his PMP designation, which has helped the firm with its development of more sophisticated project management protocols for the benefit of our clients. He succeeds in complex, high pressure, and challenging environments, and possesses excellent technical qualifications, an innate sense of creativity, and tenacious attention to detail.

Liam Brown, Associate, OAA

Our clients appreciate Liam’s systematic and steady approach to his work, and ability to mix creativity with practical solutions in a way that thoughtfully addresses our client’s requirements. His ability to listen, absorb and respond to our clients’ vision has been essential in our success on projects in multiple sectors, specifically his growing portfolio of complex healthcare renovation and specialized lab environments.
