We are currently looking to fill two positions in the role of Project Coordinator. The coordinators will provide support to our team’s project managers. They will assist the project managers in the development of detailed project workplans and schedules, organization and documentation related to agendas and minutes, and coordination of project teams to ensure we deliver excellence in client service. They will be instrumental in the day-to-day tracking of various projects and deliverables. As such the project coordinator will require excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail, ideally paired with an understanding of building science and the building process under various contractual arrangements. Additionally, it will be important to have strong communication skills, the ability to work well with teams, track detailed tasks and deliverables, and maintain schedules related to multiple projects and project schedules simultaneously.

 

Qualifications include:

 

  • 5+ years’ experience required
  • Diploma in Architectural Technology or Degree in Architecture is an asset
  • Experience with project management, design and construction
  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Understanding of workplans and schedules
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office

 

Duties include

 

  • Work under the direction of the project managers to develop and execute project work plans and schedules for projects of various complexity, size and scale
  • Ensure projects are properly documented, tracked, standard operating procedures are followed and project team is updated throughout the full design and construction process
  • Day to day monitoring of various project work plans and ensuring team accountability for deliverables
  • Developing agendas, meeting minutes and distribution of minutes to the project team/clients/stakeholders and tracking deliverables
  • Identifying potential risks for the project managers and assisting in the development of mitigation strategies to ensure projects remain on track and on budget, in close consultation with the project manager and project team
  • Report to the project manager and/or project architect on a regular basis outlining project status and completing project status reports

We are in search of a Junior Architectural Intern who will work directly with our project managers and project teams to prepare design drawings of existing facilities, drawings and/or sketchup models for renovations and drawing and/or sketchup models of new construction of moderate complexity based on verbal instructions, sketches and/or formal documents. The position requires the ability to prepare sketches, plans, section details and other design tools or visual presentation materials as required. This position reports to the Principals, Associates and Design Team Leads.

 

Qualifications include:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture
  • Demonstrated experience with REVIT, Sketchup, Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of general building science principles
  • Passion for design and interest in sustainable design
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Rigorous attention to detail and accuracy

 

Duties include

 

  • Support / Develop architectural designs
  • Attend team meetings, presentations and sub-consultant coordination meetings as required
  • With assistance prepare contract drawings, schedules, detail design and sketches from conceptual design, through tender to construction
  • Ensure Revit and Sketchup Standards, quality assurance and quality control procedures are followed during drawing planning and design.
  • Work towards and meet project time lines
  • Influence, assist in developing and designing to specific project budgets and client defined success criteria
  • With assistance, conduct Construction Administration duties including field reviews and coordination, review and issuance of Change Orders, Site Instruction, Certificate for Payment, Clarifications, and RFI responses, as required
  • Coordinate project information and work with all internal and/or external disciplines including but not limited architectural, electrical, geotechnical and civil as required Design Portfolio

We are in search of a Quality Control Specialist who has the demonstrated technical and leadership skills to assist in the oversight and execution of our firm’s quality assurance program. Our ideal candidate must have a strong, demonstrated understanding of REVIT, drawing production and detailing, specification writing, document coordination between all disciplines, building sciences, client service, team building and quality control. They have a passion for thoughtful design and lifelong learning, with a strong problem solving mindset. They will work closely with the firm principals, project managers and project teams ensuring projects meet our expectations and document deliverables.

 

Qualifications include:

  • 10+ years’ experience required
  • Diploma in Architectural Technology or Degree in Architecture
  • CCCA Designation or training associated with achieving this designation would be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated competencies with REVIT, project coordination, team communication, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of sustainable design principles
  • Deep understanding of building systems
  • Understanding of building construction and sequence of construction
  • Understanding and experience working with the Ontario Building Code & National Building Code
  • Understanding and experience working with AODA

 

Duties include

 

  • Review of documents with in the office as they are developed in each phase of a project (Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Documents)
  • Coordination of documents between specifications and drawings
  • Coordination of documents between disciplines (architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical…. Etc)
  • Review of documents to ensure compliance with various codes such as the Ontario Building Code, AODA
  • Meet with team members to discuss issues with the documents and to provide clear direction to the team on what is required to maintain the quality of the documents.
  • Mentoring of junior team members on the proper way to produce documents as outlined in the office standards and procedures.
